I have a laptop - its pretty new, i only got it for christmas, and for some reason it cannot detect its CD/DVD drive. I can open it and put in CDs and DVDs, but the computer doesnt ...show more

Check to make sure the drive is enabled..... 1. Right click on My Computer and click properties. 2. Click the hardware tab. 3. Click the device manager. 4. Double click on your CD/DVD drive 5. Look at the drop down list at the bottom and make sure it says enable.

You might've broken the drive. Somehow, I broke my cd and dvd drive, but my computer is a couple of years old. i tried reformatting, no luck. Now I just have a portable, usb dvd drive -_-

im having same problem with one game gears of war it syas nothing in d drive but yet when put soming else in it works and i put the gow in laptop it works to but need more graaphihs when i found out answer ill tell
