    First you share the printer using the main computer, which I assumed you already did because your daughter is able to print to it. Make sure you give the proper rights to the printer before you try adding it or it won't show up. Then on your laptop, you just add it. You can open the printers folder and click add printer. choose network printer setup option. then in the text box, type 2 backslashes - the name of the main computer exactly - backslash - the share name of the printer. (i.e \\main computer name\printer share name) Another way is to goto start and run. type in \\main computer name and hit enter. this will bring up all shared resources on the main computer. right-click on the printer and choose connect.
