Why cant laptops have the same touch screen as an iphone?

you know it may sound crazy but i think that must of the computer screens can be used as a touch screen; the problem has to do with the programing need it for it (i know that fujitsu has the copyrights for that technology in fact they are using it for ticket bending and order taking machines now)

it's because of two main problems with laptops price and power the touchscreen on your iphone is the most expensive part of the device and since it serves a dual purpose it also eats twice as much power as a typical screen. on laptops, buyers prefer a longer lasting battery than the latest capability in fact, compaq/hp had a Compaq Touch Screen Pen Tablet PC TC1000 Series in 2002. it didn't catch on except in the medical field because nurses can just run up to doctor to get his signature and not worry about paper copies interestingly, toshiba owns the patent for this idea. that might be another reason why all the other notebook manufacturers including apple are not in a rush to get one out yet.

Yeah it is possible. There are so many laptops with touch screen as an iphone. I have seen different brands with it but the problem is they cost an arm and a leg. Most of users prefer to pay more on powerful configuration instead of touch screen thing!

would you like to see that your screen is full of fingerprint? and there are always delay on touch screen,it is not convinient to operate the laptop.Moreover,is it necessary to design a touch screen laptop?I think using a mouse is convinient enough.Touch screen is designed for cellphone which is oprated by keyborad.

then they wouldnt be called laptops
