Brilliant question, but perhaps instead of enduring the pain you should not be pained at all.  Taking things as emotional injury, not perhaps as a less abstract and more objective sense.  When something emotionally pains you, you are affirming yourself as the weaker and you limit your perceptions to only yourself. Something that causes you pain is obviously negative so stand back remove yourself from the effect and ask why it causes you so much grief. Thus you thinking about these things more and can be constructive. Why is this happening and what can I do. Sorry I posted this as a comment first, I'm  still figuring out the mechanics of the mobile version and can't delete it!

Apart from Adals very good advice I would add: 1. Date more. 2. Get dumped more. 3. Say "Well, fuck it." or "Oh, well. Shit happens." and give an over-acted shrug when something hurtful happens and imagine yourself letting go of it. With practice it works surprisingly well. 4. Get a hobby that you can use as a distraction when the emotional pain starts. Number 4 might not really be training to endure it, but it gets you through it.
