Record tv to camcorder?

Record PS3 gameplay with Sony HD camcorder connected to TV by AV cable?

Can I do this? I've connected everything, but where do I go on my camcorder to go to like a record mode. It's a sony hdr-sr11 HD camcorder. Like record my TV stuff with HD ...show more

any video that goes through AV cables is SD only. you cannot run HD video over composite video cable. ask yourself, 1. does my TV have an AV output? 2. does my camcorder have an AV input? Both combinations are extremely rare. the only digital camcorders that i am aware of that had AV inputs were all miniDV. I have only seen one TV with AV outputs, that was a Panasonic CT5511 made about 30 years ago.
