Help!!! i dropped my camcorder and now i lost my videos!?

i dropped my camcorder that has all my videos on it and now when i turn it on it gives me an option to recover the files but it just eventually turns off. it is a jvc. is there anyway ...show more

If it is a tape based camcorder, another machine may be able to play the tapes. You can then copy to a DVD recorder, VHS recorder or similar to have your video in a form you can deal with. If it is a digital/memory type, the card may be removable so the video may be copied into a computer. There are inexpensive adapters for many types of removable cards. In either case, you should consider transcribing the video to DVD as soon as possible. If you have gotten to the point of a file on your computer, there is free software to help do this. Ask a follow up question on here, or to me, once you get farther.

I suggest taking it to an electronic repair. One with great technology so they don't further screw up your camcorder. If you have a Best Buy where you live I suggest bringing it to their Geek Squad and they might be able to recover your videos for you.
