  • Answer:

Your battery may not be the correct one, your battery is broken, or your battery is not charged. Most likely, your camcorder is not working because you have the wrong kind of battery. Look up some information on google and see what you can find about your camcorder, and the battery it holds. Perhaps, you will find the information useful. Also, take the battery back to the store, or sell it, because It seems as if you have the wrong one.

It seems like the wrong kind of battery. Sony makes about 5,000 varieties of lithium-ion battery. If the camera came with a AC adapter-powerline you should be able to run your camera through that. But CAUTION: don't use your battery charger to send power (if it has that option) to your camera--it could mess it up, seeing as they're most likely not compatible. Go back to the store where you got the camera and see if you can return it. Make sure you buy the right battery type for your model. (You might try to google the camera type along with "batteries".) If it's not the wrong battery type, the battery is faulty or not charged.
