Backgrounds are just what they imply they are in the back ground behind everything else. Layouts are on top of the background and are entirely separate entities meshed together. Layouts overprint the backgrounds. You can change the layout without changing the backgrounds in most cases.

A layout is everything in a layout (the background,tables, font color, font size, font face, link color, ect) and a background is just a background. If you can't choose what kind of layout, write down on a peice of paper what you like and then look for layouts that you have on the paper.

Yes there is a difference,layouts are alot better!Try whateverlife.com they have lots!Or if your looking for something specific google like sports layouts for myspace,or Dallas Cowboys layouts for myspace,you can basically find anything!
