Is There A Way To Password A Portable Hard Drive?

Is there a way I can unlock my hard drive to install an operating system (without password)? How? 10 POINTS!?

This is NOT normal, that machine has very odd security. I hope you have a receipt for it, the kind of people using that type of security will not be very happy if one of their machines has gone missing.Your best option would be to fit a new drive.
