Does your version have a control panel where you can choose what operations you want to do. You should be able to reverse the boot sequence where Windows is the first default boot option.

What version of Ubuntu do you run? You can simplify the GRUB menu a number of ways, but 9.10 does it differently to 9.04, which does it differently to 8.10. However, why not just do what I do. If anyone wants to use my laptop, they use Ubuntu, or they don't use it. My laptop is virus free, and I want to keep it that way.
