How should i start to learn to become a software computer programmer?

  I think where to start depends whether you want to tinker and just play around, or whether you are more interested in a decent paying long term career with prospects. For the *first option* id recommend (as you mention HTML so you are probably thinking in terms of web development) - you might find a scripting language like PHP fun to get something running on a web page quickly. *the second option* Personally I would forget web technologies to start with and start from basics. Learn a mainstream programming language such as Java (or even get started with one of the free more basic learning languages available if it is difficult to grasp at first) and if possible study computer science in general. Programmers who know little of computer science, do not progress well in the industry You can then "specialize" in web technologies and or other areas when you have a good solid base. BTW: There is nothing to say that playing around with PHP and web stuff cant or wont lead into a successful career, just that it would not be my advice to start there if that is the intention.
