Answer:
If you get a BlackBerry you won't be allowed to keep a "standard" data plan of any sort. BlackBerry devices require specific BlackBerry data plans. (BlackBerry Messenger will ONLY work from BlackBerry to BlackBerry and with no other device or desktop)
