If I buy an HDTV will I need a converter box to watch TV?
-
So the title is self explanatory. If I buy an HDTV will I still need a Converter box to watch TV?
-
Answer:
stephen isnt entirely correct, the first answer is most accurate, assuming you are buying a new tv or one less than 4 years old, you wont need to buy one, even with older tvs you only need a box if you are using an antenna, if you have a set top box from example directv or dish, comcast, local cable provider etc they already provide it built into their boxes. so in short if you are buying a new tv no you do not need a box, if you are not using some sort of cable provider then you only need an antenna.

No. HDTV's already have the appropriate tuners built in.

There is no "most likely" as the other responder says. The answer is no, you do not need a converter box.
