Where can I buy a replacement remote for a Magnavox Converter Box?

  The Magnavox seems to have the worst repair record. Ness Electronics here sells refurbished Magnavox converter boxes for $25. Today I stopped in at a thrift store and saw a Magnavox on the shelf, and the power light didn't light when I plugged it in. But to answer your question you can go to Walmart and buy a $15 RCA universal remote that claims to work about 15 different converter boxes. And Best Buy has a $20 RCA universal remote (nicer) that also claims to work a Magnavox converter box. Those are the only ones I've seen making that claim. I would get a different and better box like the "Shack" Digital Steam, one of the best. I have two and they run like a tank. Pawn Shops have a few here and there and are the best source of used boxes. Finding a lone remote is like looking for the needle in the haystack.
