I am going to get my first car! what make and model would you get? and would you get a petrol or diesel?

There was a time when diesel cost 1/2 the cost of petrol. Then, when you consider that the diesel car could do double the distance that a petrol car unit could, it made a diesel car very cheap to run. But there were not many diesel cars at the time. When VW brought out the diesel Rabbit that got 60mpg that became popular. Otherwise you only had a Citroen or a Mercedes for a choice in diesel cars.basically. There was very little in the way of pickup trucks as well. Diesel cars cost more because they are built heavier and tended to be more sluggish on take off, but that has improved greatly with the addition of the turbochargers(TDI) Still, diesel is not as popular a fuel as gas. Even though every semi truck uses it, every farm tractor uses it, every locomotive and every luxury liner cruise ship uses it. Still from gas station to gas station - some have it and some do not. Not that it makes any difference. I tend to buy my fuel always from the same station anyways, just out of habit. Gas cars are going to be more plentiful and cheaper. So for your first car, you would probably would be looking at cost as a factor. Go with gas(petrol) BTW Diesel comes out of the ground too(but it also can be made from plants(which petrol cannot be) ).

Diesel is fuel and petrol is fuel too. There are no difference. The only difference is Diesel is made from vegetables and petrol is made from your father's balls...
