Candy melts have shortening added. Melt/harden at a different level than white chocolate, which has to be tempered. To bypass the tempering and still get that "crack", melt the white chocolate slowly over low heat. Add some vegetable oil. Not sure how much, because it would depend on the amount of chocolate you are using. I would say for 1 box of the chocolate, add about 1 tsp. liquid vegetable shortening. Don't let the chocolate get too hot, or it will seize up.
