I'm trying to appear offline to one of my contacts. When I click on "appear offline" nothing happens.

When I try to appear offline to one of my contacts, YM won't let me. I only have the option to appear online or appear offline permanently. How do I resolve this? Thanks! Katie

THIS OFF-LINE PERMANATLY HAS A LOT OF FOLKS CONFUSED. AS FAR AS I KNOW ITS JUST A FANCY WAY OF SAYING YOU ARE OFF-LINE, I ASKED MY FRIEND TO SEE WHAT IT SHOWED WHEN I CHOOSE PERM OFF-LINE SHE SAID IT JUST SHOWS YOU OFF-LINE! YAHOO AND ALL THE REST THA USE THIS SHOULD CHANGE PERM OFF-LINE TO AN ICON THAT PICTURES A TOMSTONE LOL LOL TRY USING PERM OFF-LINE WITH A FRIEND AND JUST TEST THIS SOLUTION OUT YA MAY JUST LIKE IT!

well you just hit stealth settings on that person (right click) and then on the stealth part you put appear offline to that person. if that doesnt work try doing appear offline to everyone and then switch back to appear online and then try the stealth settings and it should show you offline to that one contact
