How do i sign up for IM?

How do I sign up for IM. If someone IM me it will come through but I dont know how to initiate one.

there are alot of IM, yahoo, windows live, and aim.. for yahoo.. just use the yahoo account you are on right now and sign it on to yahoo messenger http://filehippo.com/download_yahoo_messenger/ for aim, go to http://aim.com/ create a aim account and download aim.. for windows live (msn), go to http://get.live.com/messenger/overview make sure you have an account, and download the messenger.. have a great day

go o aim.com and then click the install button on top of the screen, it will say "install now' or somethign like that, and just follow the instructions from there.
