2005 Honda Civic transmission fluid change?

The best thing to do is a simple drain and refill, and if it's available a filter clean/change. Never flush the transmission because they really BACK flush it and that sends all the crap trapped on the filter back through the transmission and many times this stuff gets caught in the valve body and then you have problems. I would be wondering why you think you even have to deal with a transmission fluid change, on a 2005 car. What does you owners manual recommend.

depends on the location of the transmission hoses. usually, there are two hoses that run from the trans to the radiator which cools the fluid. most places connect to one of the lines to flush the fluid (which if done with the right machine, does NOT back flush or over pressurize the system). now i have come across some Hondas that run the lines differently, and are a great pain in the *** to hook up that way, so some places merely do a drain and fill (though this method does not change ALL the fluid, which is what is needed since the fluid wears out and the manufacturer says it needs changing). and regardless of what year your vehicle is, id look in your owners manual and see when the service MILEAGE is due (usually either @ 30k, or first one @ 60K, then every 30K)

Absolutely no reason to have your transmission system flushed on a car that is only 7 years old. Simply replace the fluid and filter.
