What is a legal gateway?

Marijuana(Addicted, Gateway, The Mind, Legal & Alcohol)?

  • Can someone be psychically addicted to weed? Should it be legal, and why? Is it worse or better then alcohol? Is it a gateway drug? Can it kill you and how?

  • Answer:

I doubt anyone can be physically addicted to anything. Most people are mentally addicted to drugs including weed. I personally am not a pot smoker but I do think it should be legal. The reason is because the government cannot tax it when its grown in everyones homes. Tobacco is mostly grown on farms and processed in plants and rolled there with filters and brand names. Pot won't be able to have that effect because you grow it and process it yourself. It would be impossilble to make money on it. I believe that pot is the equivalent to alcohol it does impair your abilities. It is a gateway drug because you do enjoy the effects but like all things it wears off and you need more and more to get your fill. Pot can kill you in many ways, you can get in a car wreck due to your impairment, you can develop lung cancer, and you could go to jail where you can be beaten to death.

Statistically alcohol causes more problems than weed, this however is merely because of the amount of people who consume alcohol compared to the amount of people who smoke or otherwise consume Marijuana (Weed). Weed is considered to be a gateway drug by some, but it is not necessarily and it is often argued that the people who will go onto harder drugs in the long run will have anyway. It can kill you due to increasing your chances of brain cancers, lung cancer and throat cancer, however alcohol can kill you due to liver failure or cancer and brain damage. Problems associated with smoking tobacco usually apply also, as it is normally consumed with tobacco whilst being smoked in the form of a joint. Problems from tobbacco include lung cancer, throat cancer, carbon monoxide poisoning of the blood, restricting blood to the genitallia (increasing the chance of infertility and stopping males from acheiving erections). Other problems associated with the consumption of weed are mental health problems in later life, which will affect approximately 1 out of ten people who smoke weed and is believed to be genetically based. Weed sales are unregulated (as it is illegal) so are often mixed with substances such as rat poison or talcum powder which may also chemically poison the person. In my opinion it should not become legal, because of the associated physical and mental health problems. Decriminalising it would lead to more people consuming it and a higher number of people living with the effects and problems of living with it, but would mean it could be regulated and taxed.

medically speaking THC causes habituation not addiction which is like tobacco, it is as harmful as cigarettes but much less than alcohol because alcohol is teratogenic which means that it causes mutations in the DNA that is reflected in one's offsprings. I think it should be decriminalised as it is stupid to imprison people for such a trivial cause and destroy their future It can kill u as much as cigarettes can do and lesser than alcohol, however smoking and driving is no risk and it makes u more cautious unlike drinking and driving

They shouldn't be using my tax dollars to keep them in prison. Decriminalize it, tax it, get on with your life.
