  The only way to change the address in your passport is to replace it. Since September 2005, Passport Services no longer amends passports. The new passport contains an RFID chip which uses WORM (Write Once, Read Many) technology and, therefore cannot be written over. The only changes that can be requested without incurring a fee are printing errors and a name change that occurs within one year after the passport is issued. Since you want to change the address in your passport, you will have to apply for a passport renewal by mail using form DS-82. There will be a fee and you will lose the remaining validity in your current passport.
