Is this a safe neighborhood in Philadelphia?

It's east of Temple. It isn't the worst, but it's pretty bad. The areas to the north of that are part of the greater Kensington area, which is one of the worst parts of Philly.

Seriously!? What does being white have to do with anything? Whites are more accepted than Blacks no matter where you go. Your race is irrelevant and race should not factor into your decision, that's backwards and ridiculous! Any area in an inner city neighborhood is going to have problems due to the poverty. Find yourself a nice home that is secure and meets your needs. No matter where you go, just learn to be cautious and don't act like a snob. If you are going to be living on North American street, you won't be too far from the Piazza at Schmidts area off of 2nd & Girard Ave which North American St runs into. You will enjoy the bars, night life and restaurants around there. It's a diverse crowd and has a free parking lot!
