What is the closest beach to Philadelphia, PA?

Where is there a decent beach to go to outside of Philadelphia,PA?

Looking for a nice beach to go to for a day trip. Not looking for it to have rides/games. Just looking for a nice clean beach about and hour out of Philly.

I read this week that Wildwood was voted best beach on NJ shore.

As other have said, Atlantic City beach is closest but it's not a nice beach. Ventnor is the next town over, or go to Ocean City, Sea Isle, Stone Harbor... there's a lot of beaches north and south of AC and all are easy to get to.

Go to Atlantic City between the AC Hilton and Tropicana casinos You can park at the Quarter which is part of Tropicana that is best stretch of beach with few broken shells ( I find that is the biggest problem with A.C. beaches).
