  you can apply for job when you're on social visit, once you get the job from the company that is willing to sponsor your work visa (either work permit or employment pass), then the company should apply the work permit or employment pass for you, approval can be within few days once submitted, and you can start working as soon as approval is obtained. Now, the problem is, how do you know which company is willing to sponsor you for the work permit or EP? Not so easy as almost all of the job vacancy doesn't indicate whether the job is open for foreigner. I saw that gap, so we created a job site that indicates whether the vacancy is open to foreigner, it's a small site though, as it's just started.
