  • Answer:

This is all well and good; clearly you know a lot about Disney World and travel, but don't spend too much time considering a job nobody's offered you yet. You need to explore just how you would go about getting this job. There would be a lot of training.

I've read your answers all over the boards about Disney. I think that you are very knowledgeable, and seem to know what your talking about. You also seem to like planning vacations for people. So, I say go for it! You have nothing to lose, and if you don't like it, you can always change it and do something else! Good Luck!

I know that Walt Disney just laid off a lot of people, I don't know if any agents were laid off. If that doesn't work, maybe you should work for an Internet agency that specializes in Walt Disney World. www.mousefantravel.com also known as Mei Travel. They have their agents go through the Disney College of Knowledge!

I know exactly what you mean... it's like being a walking Disney trivia game. I think planning Disney vacations would be an awesome day job. That would be the next best thing to being there all the time. I don't think that I could handle working in the parks and dealing with people 24/7 but helping plan their vacation... definitely. If you have the opportunity, go for it. I agree, how hard is it to go to the Disney website, click your mouse a few times and get a vacation price? Doesn't make sense to me... people are just lazy... which is great if you're a travel agent and can make money off their Disney vacations.

I use to work @ Disney & yes, you would be a great travel agent...when they start hiring again. Disney did just layoff alot of people, including the agents from the Tampa office, but I'm sure once the economy gets back on there feet then they will reopen some of those positions.

All I know is that you should follow your passions. You'd have to get training for any job field you go into, so why not one that gives you so much enjoyment? I am going to assume that you live in FL, since you have been so many times. Have you considered being a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) salesman? I think that would also be a great field to get into, it might also be more lucrative in the long run. Just a thought! Follow your dreams!
