Where to stay while visiting New York City?

I need a pretty cheap place to stay while visiting New York....I have heard that staying in Jersey is cheap if they have daily shuttles or trains to the city......I am visiting peak ...show more

Summer is very busy month to visit the Big Apple. Since, you're budget, you can stay in Jersey City, NJ and take the PATH train, which is a commuter railway from there into and out of Manhattan.
