How many streets in NYC, that are the bad areas?

I am going to be living in NYC and targeting Brooklyn. Are there any streets or areas I should avoid?

  • Answer:

Since you say you'll be working in NYC, I assume you mean you'll be working in Manhattan (most folks do), so, believe it or not, I would base my decision on which neighborhood in Brooklyn to live in on which subway is nearest my job. In other words, if your job is near the A train, then you're going to want to look at those Brooklyn neighborhoods that are all along the A train's route through Brooklyn, or similarly with the B or F or R or N or 1 or 2 or whatever train it might be that your job is closest to. Believe me, I speak from experience, and it will make your whole life a whole lot easier! Good luck, and the link below is to a good NYC Subway map...
