How bad is the commute from burbank to century city?

How long would a commute from Long Beach, California to Burbank or LA, California during rush hour be?

  • Before you say google maps it - I'm missing that little thing, which can make the trip much longer, called traffic. I am moving from the wonderful city of San Francisco to Long ...show more

  • Answer:

I'm a Long Beach native and current resident... At some point in my life I lived in Downey and worked in South Pasadena and then in Glendale. From Downey to South Pass during rush hour is was close to 50mins... to Glendale you had to plan 1.5 hours because you could NEVER rely on the traffic. Sometimes great, sometimes awful... Long Beach to Burbank... you are probably looking at planning 2 hours each morning, maybe more. What about taking the metro??

Shouldnt you move to Burbank where your internship is. It will take 2 hours in rush hour stalled traffic each way morning and evening.

It really depends on various factors from what day it is, what kind of day it is, and what time it is. In general, if you want to be near the opportunities in Burbank, then I would suggest residing either in Burbank or anywhere near Burbank because during traffic, it's possible you'll be spending at the VERY LEAST an hour and a half in traffic. Burbank is only 12 miles away from Downtown Los Angeles. It's not THAT far.
