Is it safe to take the Amtrak alone?

Can I take the Amtrak from NYC to ATL, then take a Greyhound from ATL to Valdosta, GA all in the same station?

  • I get lost easily, but my plan is to take the amtrak to from NYC to atlanta, then from atlanta to valdosta. Will I be able to take the transfer all in the same station? Thanks.

    NOPE, the Greyhound station is nowhere near the AMTRAK station. You will have to take a taxi cab from one station to the other. I don't understand why you aren't flying. Flying is faster, cheaper and more comfortable than the train. Unless you have some fear of flying the train is the worst possible way to make that trip.

Does Amtrak run from NYC to Atlanta? Bus stations are not usually in the same area as train stations. You could find out where each is by going to the Amtrak and Greyhound websites.

Atlanta is two separate terminals, as I will indicate on your other categorical question in which you asked the same exact thing. Rachel's assumption is correct, though she only got lucky and guessed right. Just as many stations are far more convenient transfers in the same building, such as Harrisburg, Hartford, Springfield, Boston, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, New Haven, and several others. Unfortunately, Atlanta requires a cab or a sketchy one hour walk.

I've never been to Atlanta, but probably not. In my experience, trains and long-distance bus lines usually run in and out of separate stations, very possibly in different parts of town. Probably the easiest way to get from the train to the bus would be to hail a taxi outside the train station to take you to the bus station.
