Where can I buy amp magazine?

Is it true that if you buy an car amp with the watts written on it its not a good car amp?

  • I bought a nitro amp with 200 watts, and a 500 watts memphis amp but people told me that if I buy an amp with the watts written on the amp is not a good amp is it true?

  • Answer:

Whats written on it doesn't have anything to do with performance. You should know your product before you buy. Like I know for sure Memphis audio makes quality products, I am not so sure about the nitro, never heard of it. I always check out the specs before buying.

If an amp isn't CEA 2006 Compliant, it could mean that the watts stated are not what's produced. Always go by watts RMS as this measurement is the most accurate when talking terms of watts. Go here for info on enclosures (and other tips): http://spkrbox1.spaces.live.com

most amps have the wattage listed on the unit . this is not a good or bad thing its just there . u will want to suit up your map with proper spearkers and test the unit . most of the amps out there have a 10% or greater drop in them in other words 200 wat amp actullly will put out between 170 and 190 amps in true form .

That is marketing nothing more nothing less.

I don't think it means it's good or bad.
