It depends on what type of sound you want... A ported enclosure will be more efficient then a sealed enclosure and thus give you more output. A properly built enclosure will give you more low-end output as well. The trade-off is a loss in the tight bass, or SQ. If you want more output from your subs then ported is definetly the way to go. If you want SQ then sealed. More important then the type of enclosure you choose is the actual enclosure you choose. You need to make sure it is built to the specs of the sub. If you buy a prefab enclosure you will likely have bad sound and could even damage you sub. Good Luck!!!
