What do I need for a good sound system in my car?

go to radio shop and tell them how much money you want to spend. They have displays so you can see the difference between radios and prices.

go with the crutchfield website its a great site. i just replaced my factory speakers with the boston acoustics 5 1/4" sx55 and the sound quality is a huge difference. i am also putting 2 10" subs to go with my new speakers. i am getting 2 rockford p3s with the rockford punch series amp. also replacing your deck has alot to do with sound quality. when you buy a deck make sure it has a 4 volt preamp output to it. the sound quality will be alot better than a cheaper deck with a 2 volt output. ordering your stuff from crutchfield is one of the best things you can do they will supply you with all your needs. also believe it or not abc warehouse is a great place to go for car audio they will have great prices and as long as the guy working in that department really knows what he is talking about you will be in good shape.
