How many watts can a 8 gauge amp cable handle?

Can 14 gauge wire handle 2,500 watts?

    that amp will not last running at one ohm.the best thing you can do is put that boss crap back in the box and get any refund you can on it.flea market trash,consider it a lesson learned and stick with cea rated equipment so you can believe the ratings on the equipment.rockford fosgate/kicker/pioneer/sony all have cea rated equipment kicker has some good entry level equipment that is cea rated.get a refund before it cooks.not many amplifiers or factory charging systems in cars can handle a one ohm load.

It doesn't matter if the amp is/or isn't cea compliant, hell all underground car audio amps aren't and they've been known to be WAY underrated. As for the amp, it's not a 2500 watt amp. The 14 gauge wire will be fine to run the subs.

I really wouldnt put a 12 gauge i would go with a 4 gauge i have a 1500watz planet audio with a mega box 2 12's inside and it bumps hard ...with a 4 gauge cable
