Answer:
it depends on your sub, some subs work better with bigger boxes and air ports. some work better with no ports. check out what they say on their web sites and make your desicion on that.

you need to go to your owners manual or to the website and find out what size you need to build the box

Hi, What you need to do is build one box with two enclosures. In other words make one big box for two 12" woofers and isolate the woofers from each other by placing a board through the middle of the box. You will actually end up with two boxes in one. Make sure you have the board in the middle or your sound will be distorted. Check out www.dealinsecond.com for great deals on boxes and etc for car audio. www.myspace.com/techguru1 --> add me Thanks,

You would be better off building one box to include both of the subs. Now what type of box you build is entirely dependent upon quite a few factors. Each type of sub has its own volume that it needs to push air specified by the manufacturer. Also depending on the type of subwoofer and how powerful it is determines whether you should build a ported, sealed, or bandpass box. Also if you then decide to go and build a ported box you have to be careful with how big the ports are. These are mathematically determined based on the volume air that is to be moved from the surface area of the sub at certain frequencies. Most subs operate in the low frequency range i.e. 20 Hz to about 40 or 60 Hz. Your best bet is to build a sealed box if your not real sure where to go about doing it. Just look at the recommended volume required for each sub. Then you can build one solid box and then put a divider in it so that each sub has its own volume space. There might be interference if both subs are in the same air space or volume. Be sure to use some sort of MDF board probably about 5/8" thick. Use about 2 or 2 1/4" screws or trim gun nails and seal it with polyurethane glue or caulk and then wrap it in carpet and glue the carpet and then staple it on the inside so you can't see the seams. You can build your own box for pretty cheap instead of buying a Q-logic box or something and its also fun to do. Hope this helps, post more information if theres anything else you would like to know.

if you gonna put 2 12" subs, i suggest you make custom one like those show cars, other wise 1 12" sub is good enough you might wanna look into 8" sub, you dont need all that bass because all you can hear is bass, no music
