  Seedy and backwards, with the unemployment rate of a third world country, SC refused Obama's millions in aid--the ONLY state to do so! The poorest state, you get snow at high altitudes in the mountains that form the western part of the state, but the winters are mild on the coast. The capital of Columbia is a DISGRACE and full of puritanical attitudes about races, sexuality and gays, and Baptists shut down Gay clubs, porn stores, and anything involving drinking or dancing. Only Charlestno has anything resembling culture at all. However, if you are independently wealthy OR a retiree with an income source from outside the state, you can buy ten houses for the price of one in New Jersey.
