How to disable auto sign-in to Messenger in Yahoo Mail?

When opening or accessing Yahoo Mail, Messenger automatically signs in. How do I disable this or, at least have it sign in as invisible?

I am having the same problem. I am livid. How many customers is yahoo about to lose due to this? They just keep getting worse and worse every year. I have had enough with them.

Exact same issue for me, starting today; the exact same day that Yahoo Mail changed their "YAHOO" logo and launching page. This is NOT just a coincidence and is just one more reason I have had it with this so-called "new and improved" yahoo mail. When I had Yahoo Classic I had NO issues, EVER, for years, not one. Now all of the BLOATWARE/bells/whistles is killing their customer base. Wake up, Yahoo, what is it going to take for you to get your act together? I no longer care, I am done with Yahoo for good and will make a point to NOT recommend you to everyone that asks.

Everyone I know including me are fed up with this. Yahoo has finally collapsed into A Big Brother to the system.. Bought & paid for, "SHAME ON YOU"

Terrible, not only does it sign in automatically, but when I set the status to invisible and close yahoo mail, the next time it will sign in and set the status to available!!! Yahoo mail is a catastrophe!
