Email etiquette: What is the best email practice to remind a new customer they haven't logged into your service following registration?

I received the following email from a service provider and would like to see what you think about it: "I noticed you haven't logged in recently. Is there anything I can do to make CoName more useful to you? Please let me know if you have any suggestions or feedback, and I'll bark at our team members to get their attention." I found it a bit creepy, it makes me feel like the company is intruding on my privacy by watching my activity and then communicating directly they haven't seen me use their service. Parenthetically, I'm not so keen on the "bark" at my team comment acknowledging it was probably intended to be a humorous comment. Is there a better way to communicate the intended message?

One of the first mistakes I made when deciding on my email philosophy for my first site was to project my likes and dislikes onto my customers. I really like a clean inbox, I really like my privacy etc... so I emailed very infrequently. I eventually learned that I was really hurting engagement and that many of my customers were not like me. I now send messages just like the one you mentioned. Sure, I may turn off a few people, but I get engagement from a ton more who just forget about what we offered.
