I got the answer, but only when I logged in to give Yahoo feedback.... "You can change the subject of the email when replying to emails. After you select the reply button and get to the reply screen, click the down arrow next to the “To” field and in the pop-up menu, there will be an option “Edit Subject”. Click that and you will be able to edit it!

Why on earth they changed the format? It is disastrous. So many people complaining............. I am

I totally agree with the sentiments of the original message. I hope Yahoo is reading this feedback and refrains from constantly changing up perfectly straightforward, effective email functions. I used to love my Yahoo mail--now I use others when I can. I also thank all the other participants for sharing and for explaining the convoluted manner in which to change the darned Subject line!

There is a down arrow left of the "To" field. Click it and you will get an options to edit the subject. Not very intuitive, but works. On the brighter side, prevents change of subject unless really intended. Hope this helps ...

What a Lame-O answer Sharon gave & to whatever moron gave her the Best Answer trophy. Back spacing doesn't do jack squat to aid us in getting the subject title box changed. I wonder what flunky looked at that answer thought it was the best choice award for it without doing any investigating themselves into trying to personally try that method on their own before agreeing & saying it does work. This Sharon person needs to get real. Being all arrogant as if that method works & as it it works all the time. Being so passive & with a Pollyanna attitude about it.Sharon is on my nerves with that lame , nonfunctional answer. I tried backspacing the Subject Title Box. Surprise ! The **** don't work , Sharon ! Duh. Take that answer back & give back the honors you received for such a load of crap answer.

You have to disable the awful "conversation option" that they defaulted all of us to when it changed us over to the new format. Once its disabled, which you can do under settings/viewing mail, you will be able to edit subject lines. Worst redesign ever.

I am having the same problem. It is so frustrating!

I have to concur. For such as well seasoned company, the interface and operability of the newer yahoo email client is very poorly implemented. So if you are listening Yahoo, this needs to be fixed pronto!
