What does the cc mean in a email?

What does cc or bcc mean when composing an email?

  • when I forward an email it has a cc under the name, what does it mean? At the top there is a bcc, what's this for?

  • Answer:

CC is just additional people you want to email something to, but the email isnt necessarily for them. BCC is the same as CC, but their name wont show up when the people you sent it to open the email.

CC is carbon copy and is exactly the same as TO. The only difference is the "status" of the message. CC indicates that you are getting a copy but are not the primary addressee. For example use TO for a company and CC for the Better Business Bureau when sending a complaint to a company. BCC is blind carbon copy and is hidden. It is used to send out a mailing without everyone knowing the other addresses. When you use CC or BCC you must also have a TO address. With BCC you usually put yourself in the FROM and TO. ₪ ɦəlʞɹɐq ₪
