Finding parametric equations given a point and a plane?

I have to find a parametric equations for a LINE given the point (0, 2, 1) and perpendicular to the plane: x + 2y + 3z = 12 I assume you have to put that plane equation into ...show more

Answer:
No, you don't need to do anything with plane equation, except use coefficients of x, y, and z to find normal vector < 1, 2, 3 > Since this normal vector is perpendicular to the plane, it must also be parallel to the line that is also perpendicular to the plane. So direction vector of line = < 1, 2, 3 > and line passes through point (0, 2, 1) Parametric equation of line: x = 0 + t = t y = 2 + 2t z = 1 + 3t
