Answer:
Shrink Pic 1.2, by OnTheGoSoft, resizes photos on-the-fly for email, Instant Messenger and web uploads. There are no instructions to follow or procedures to remember, just install Shrink Pic and send your photos as you have always done. Bariloche, Argentina (PRWEB) May 17, 2006 -- Many people don't know how to resize their photos and send emails with huge attachments. When was the last time you received a friend's email that took 10 minutes to open, only to find just a few photos? You can now get the new, and free, Shrink Pic to solve this problem. Shrink Pic guarantees that you can easily and safely resize your digital photos and send them to your friends. Shrink Pic is much easier and more convenient to use than the free photo software that comes on most computers. You don't have to read any instructions to use Shrink Pic. Just install the program and that's it! Shrink Pic runs in the background and detects when you send large photo files. Then, the software creates a temporary copy, resizes it, and sends it instead--all of that on-the-fly. It automatically resizes photos sent as email attachments, uploaded to web-mail or sent by Instant Messengers. So, next time you receive a nice healthy email packed with huge digital photos, refer your friends to Shrink Pic. The next email you receive will be much smaller. Even if your friends are complete technophobic, they would have no problems using Shrink Pic – there's really nothing to it. Just download and install. The rest happens automatically when they send photos. http://www.onthegosoft.com

I assume you have some editing software. Get the photo you want to email up into the editing programme. Crop the picture down to a smaller size, and save.

http://www.irfanview.com/ It's a free download. Once you download it, open the picture in it, click on "resize" and choose the dimensions you want to shrink it too, then save as the new size. This will allow you to keep the original picture in its original format, plus have the new resized one.
