do a whois lookup of the site to see where its registered, by whom and how long its been in business. http://whois.domaintools.com/ If any site is privacy protected or registered by proxy I would be suspicious and anything less than a year old is also too risky

There are no hard rules you can go by. The problem with things like this on the Internet, is that it is much too easy to lie and cheat online. So you need to be highly suspicious of EVERYTHING, become paranoid if necessary. When an E-mail offer sounds too good to be true, then it is definitely not true. If they ask you for account information or any other personal information, think scam. NEVER, ever give out your personal information to anyone for any reason - ever. If they say you won something, ask yourself: 1- did I enter that contest? 2- how did they get my name and/or E-mail address? 3- why E-mail me, when they do not notify people that way? Never send money to people, especially people you do not know, for reasons so bad, they do not even make a good story. Never send monet for fees, charges to recieve some item, Again, scam as from above, as they do not notify via E-mail. It can go on and on. Better safe than sorry, you know! One thing I do to help is to cut down on the spam I get, so I do not even see most of it. I strongly suggest you do the same. You can not completely stop all spam, but you can help to put a big dent in it. First, try not to open any of them, that only makes them send more and more to you. Check mark them and click on 'Spam,' this should stop those addresses from being delivered to your inbox. Use your spam guard and block address. Look for the 'Options' link at upper right corner of mail screen and click on it Options /mail options Click on 'spam' in the list on the left. Make sure spam guard is on, by checking in the little box. Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses,' enter the E-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address' and click on the 'add' button, then click on save changes at top left of screen. You will never get mail from that address again. This should help you to control your spam. Other tips: Do not ever open E-mail from people you do not know; and unless you are absolutely sure who it is from then treat them as spam. Opening spam alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more of it to you. Never, ever give out your account information or other personal information to anyone. If you are on a site and you absolutely have to sign up for something, check the entire page to make sure you uncheck any lines wanting to send you any other info, notices, catalogs, ads, and the like. Added detail: Yes, spammers change one item in their addresses a lot, so you might try blocking the entire domain, by putting in *@ thedomainyouwanttoblock.com for instance: *@seeyou.com Or, if they change the domain, instead of the company name you can block the name by putting in Imatheft_inc@* Hope this helps.

if it sounds too good to be true then it is. these are words of wisdom buddy. learn this lesson before you get taken. I have never been taken in my whole life cuz i live by these words. if you need extra money just get a job or sell stuff in a garage sale.

If the site is a long sales letter, you know that 2 meter long sites, then it is most likely a scam. There are so many scams online it is unbelievable. I have fallen victim for a lot of them. These days I am very careful and suspicious of money making sites. You can kind of trust a site that is working through Clickbank, because Clickbank gives you a 60 day money-back guarantee. I have come upon a site a few days ago, that I think is legitimate and I think anyone can make money from it. It is still in testing, but you can check it out here: http://70628.powerbarclub.com I hope it helps.
