  Hi, Ray P, I am so sorry that the ads are coming furiously, making your life miserable. The reason for the massive amounts of advertising is that when you upgraded to the new Yahoo Mail you agreed to their Terms of Service, which said, among other things, that they would be scanning your emails for content so that the information could be sent to "appropriate" advertisers. There are programs that can be used to block the advertising, but I wonder if you were to change your password to something difficult, that only you would understand (and remember) if that would help. I would also send every ad to SPAM. It is too bad that the upgrade works so differently than Classic, as it would have been so easy to solve in Classic. Just upgrade your security in the Classic mail and refuse any advertising THERE. Since you mentioned that it appears time to move on, I have been trying to find a replacement email program for Classic since July 9th, one that is not a memory hog, and one that has all of the features and ease of use of Classic, including the Address Book (in its entirety) and of course the very useful Categories, which makes repeated emailing a breeze. I have not found any. I have not upgraded, but know how the upgrade works, from a secondary email account. Let's just hope that Yahoo considers returning Classic Yahoo Mail to us as a paid email service, so that those who require that something special, not quite so modern, would have a choice.
