Same thing happened to me!!!!!! I use my yahoo mail every day, so I know it's not due to inactivity. Something went wrong. This is horrible!! I can't believe I lost everything. Dear Yahoo, I trusted you. I trusted you with correspondence that I've kept from my grandparents for years, my grandpa of which literally passed away just yesterday. I trusted you with pictures that were emailed from my family in Greece who cannot make the trip to the US due to health issues. When I signed up for a service or something that required payment, and was asked for an email account, I'd use my Yahoo. I trusted you with thousands of emails over the years, 9 to be exact. When gmail came out I resisted the urge to switch, because I had built trust and faith in you. My heart has been shattered. My world has fallen apart, overnight. If all is truly lost, I wont know where to start. How could I ever trust another email client ever again. Even if my account recovers, my trust in you has failed me, and I simply can't go through this again. Pete

It happened to me and many others yesterday, NONE OF US are getting a reply off Yahoo no matter where we try and contact them, Ive got 11 years of folders and emails gone, I was in the middle of sending an email and it told me the account I was sending to was deactivated, went to my inbox and EVERYTHING was gone. I wasnt using an email client either. I contacted yahoo straight away through all means possible and NO REPLY - I know its only been 14 hours BUT the longer they take the more chance it is all gone for good!!! Id suggest joining all the yahoo groups facebook pages etc as hopefully it will be posted how to fix this mess once they realise what they have done to many LOYAL 10+ years customers!!!!!! On facebook pages dont just post also add your question in comments so it actually gets read! https://www.facebook.com/YahooCustomerCare http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Y-Mail/ https://www.facebook.com/YahooMail?ref=ts&fref=ts https://www.facebook.com/yahoo?ref=ts&fref=ts Good luck!

Mine was deactivated too, everything that was in it is gone now.... And apparently this has happened to a lot of other people. Try to request help through http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?y=PROD_MAIL_ML&locale=en_US&page=content&id=SLN2552&impressions=true although yesterday yahoo help keept sending me in circles between tech support and account verification, and today there is no response whatsoever. There is also a group discussing this problem at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Y-Mail/ and a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/YahooCustomerCare

I experienced this problem today, and sent a news tip to my local media www.9news.com where I live in Denver, Colorado - if I don't get resolution over the weekend, I'll call the all of the local news outlets on Monday.

I understand your frustration, Yahoo just deactivated my account. Did not bother to talk to me first. They do not understand what they have done, they did not care why they did it or that they did. I knew I should have put my email on a domain server just did not do it yet, now I am getting calls from kids schools saying email bouncing back. Answer I received from Yahoo after 3 days of calling non stop is : I do not think we can reactivate it. OMG I can not get back in touch with them they do not answer calls

Same here. 3/1 I was reading emails and suddenly was prompted by yahoo to reactivate my deactivated account? Reactivated it and all 15 years of emails are gone. This account is used many times a day everyday. Requested a 48 hr reset. After reset nothing is back, no folders or any email before the reactivation. Oddly no emails after the reactivation were erased as they should have been with the 48 hr reset. But the 2nd email from yahoo stated the reset was complete. SO IF YOU HAVE NOT REACTIVATED YET DONT. I do not know if you will have any luck either way but this was my result. I sure pray they can fix this. Its hard to immagine how much information I have lost.
