Where to go for a short student holiday?

Where are some good places, for a student and his/her friends to go for a long holiday In australia?

  • For like 2 or 3 months, different places to go just names & stuff

  • Answer:

Being students I'm assuming you're young (early 20s). I would come over in September starting at Queensland spend a few weeks hire a car and drive down the New South Wales coast down to Sydney stay a while keep on driving down the south coast down to Victoria and down to Melbourne. There are lots of great seaside towns all along the NSW coastline, so spend a day here and there and you'll get to see the main cities and some more real residential cities. Or you could come in January and work backwards from Vic to Qld. EDIT - Kiama really is beautiful, I would suggest staying for a few days, near by Shellharbour is nice too - I should know, I live here.

if you want to travel around australia and not stay in one certain place i would recommend starting at melbourne and catching trains, coaches etc. all the way to sydney and then up to brisbane. definitely stop at coastal towns and beaches! or you could do the opposite route of brisbane to melbourne.. if you want to stay in one place then stay in sydney brisbane or melbourne or you should go to adelaide.. i would go to brisbane because its more of a holiday place and if you come in our summer, you have plenty of beaches etc. search all these places over the internet before you go so you know what your doing.. good luck

watching the sunset

Now this may seem strange, I am from Montreal Canada, and I found, Aussie to be outstanding, we went Sydney to the Barrier Reef stayed at one of those Caravan camping places cost us $20 per night, was a bargain. Went north, then across to Darwin, did one of those rough it bus or tours from Darwin down to Alice Springs, stopping over night at different camp sites. From Alice springs we bused to Adelaide, then Melbourne and had a blast, before ending up a Sydney, One place we liked for the beach and surf was in a place called Kiama South of Sydney, the waves were hugh. You like seafood? You can't miss that. Thank you Australia for a great safe adventure.

Sydney has lots of things to do. Dubbo, NSW has a few things to do. The dubbo city caravan park is pretty cheap but you could only stay a few days. Go to the coast of QLd and see the Great Barrier Reef. it's beautiful. there are other things to see at surfers paradise and brisbane and places like that.

If you had that long, I'd do a driving holiday up the east coast of Australia, stopping for a week or so at all the major destinations. If you don't have a car you could look into going by buses and trains. Start in Melbourne, stop in places like Lakes Entrance, Sydney, New Castle, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Island, the Whitsundays, Cairns, Port Douglas. If you want to stay in the one place (so you can work or because you don't want to travel), it depends what you're interested in. If you want to go to the beach, relaxing, etc. maybe the Gold Coast or Perth. If you're interested in going to bars, shopping, going to cultural events Melbourne or Sydney would be good.
