12 weeks? You've at least another 2 weeks (receipt is 15 October, 1 month 15 November, 2 months 15 December, 3 months 15 January). Christmas / New Year break MAY (or may not) add another week or so...

Especially given we are in the Christmas period...timelines are extended. Most workers have some time off between (or before) Christmas and New Years....our department is on slow until January 6. As such you can expect the processing time to be somewhat longer than the estimates.

Sonu, listen to Ozmaniac we send out standard generated letters also and tell people 12 or 16 weeks, it is an average estimate, don't hold these people to the da, then start calling and hassling, because I will tell you what I used to do, and my colleagues still do it. They have a big stamp with the word "REJECTED" on it. A case office dies not have to give you a reason over here, and nor do the Australian case officers. Have you any ideas how many applications a single case officer has going at one time?
