Why worry about walking distance? You can hop on a tube and be anywhere in London pretty quickly! Camden is a must for shopping!

Check this Street Sensation of London link for London's major shopping precincts. https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?source=search_app#bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=813b0b1587a62d92&q=street+sensation If you wish to travel further afield then how about Camden Markets? Must be something there for you. https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?hl=en&tab=ww#bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&fp=813b0b1587a62d92&hl=en&q=camden+markets London UK 090813.0634

Regent Street (it crosses Oxford Street and is well known for "posher" shops"); New Bond Street is a turning off Oxford Street; Carnaby Street is pedestrianised and just off the junction of Oxford Street and Regent Street. Tottenham Court Road is the place to go for anything electronic, and Charing Cross Road is known for the bookshops - it includes Foyle's, the largest in Britain, now dragged into the 20th century since Christina Foyle died. (In her day it was the most scruffy bizarre book warehouse you could imagine and nobody could ever find anything. The three-queue payment system, because Ms Foyle wouldn't allow most of the assistants to handle cash, was like something out of Soviet Russia. I used to go and browse sometimes just to boggle at it all.) All these roads are pretty much connected. A little further away, but not by much, is Covent Garden (totally different from anything else and guaranteed street theatre). For something totally different, there is the enormous Westfield shopping centre at Shepherds Bush. It's only a short ride away from Oxford Street on the Central line to Shepherds Bush. Google Westfield to see what's in it first if you want to see whether you'd like to go.

The Westfield Shopping Centre is not within walking distance but you should go there. It is easily accessable on the Central Line from Oxford Street. Local shopping includes Bond Street and New Bond Street, Regents Street and the Burlington Archade, plus Carnaby Street.
