there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you great hotels and best prices available. just go to BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Depends on what your budget is, but the bayswater area is good, lots of hotels, with easy access to two tube stations, and hyde park. It's only about a 15 minute to oxford street

impossible to answer without knowing a few things - what's your budget? do you want a nice hotel, or just a room to use as a base for seeing london? Avoid anywhere inside the circle line if you don't want to be ripped off.

The Dorcester in Park Lane, bit expensive but nice

There's some decent and reasonable ones around Tottenham Court Road. That puts you at the end of Oxford Street and on the Central Line for getting around. OK, if it has to be a Premier Inn, your best one that would put you in a good central position would be Victoria. Here's their list of London hotels. http://www.premierinn.com/pti/textSearchProcessAction.do
