How is living in Germany compared to living here in the United States?
-
I've always wanted to travel, and I've heard that Germany is one of the funnest, loving places in the world. Is this true? What makes Germany so awesome, and would you live there?
-
Answer:
Germans like to walk everywhere the same way we Americans like to drive everywhere.

Well, every place has its pros and cons. Here is what I know about Duestchland: Their society is more regimented- they write traffic tickets if you pass in the right hand lane. They expect people to be more mature than here in the US. They respect privacy a lot more. A landlord won't do into your apartment until your rent is really in arrears. A guy died in his apartment and it took months for the authorities to catch on. If I am on the phone(land line), no else can pick up another extension and listen in. Prostitution is legal. If you are working for a US company, you will not have to pay income taxes. The beer's better. You don't have to drive everywhere. The schools are better.

Most German teens are very friendly, and a LOT of people speak English, but not always very well. If you are eighteen and younger, you can buy alcohol!!!!! How crazy?! And it's legal to have sex with a fourteen year old, if you're into that sort of thing.... It's a beautiful country as well. They have a different school system than we do... "funnest"? Most fun? It would seem so but IDK about loving...most people don't seem to have a very cheerful disposition there. It depends on where you go. I wouldn't say it is the most fun or loving place, but I would definately say it is worth visiting.
Germans are in general more serious than fun loving. They like to criticize, tend to see the negative things first and are not very optimistic. This might be related to the fact that Germany has seen better times in the past. They are now facing harsh competition from the east, from Europe and from Asia. Unfortunately some of them still cling to racism and xenophobia and try to make others responsible for their own problems, especially in rural and economically problematic areas. On the positive side they are very competitive, if not the most competitive in Europe. They consider themselves good engineers which was true in the past. They are still perfectionists which might be a reason they always find something to complain. Germany has a good social support system, good health care, nearly free education up to university level. Fairness, justice and personal freedom play an important role for them, considering Germany's history. Politically, they don't like the GOP and all favor the Dem's. They hate G.W. Bush and cheered for Obama. Some oppose the unilateral approach of US foreign politics, but in general they are very friendly to the US as such. Germans were once one of the major groups of immigrants in the US and there is still a lot of personal relation and interest. There are areas in Germany which are very traditional, especially the south. The west and northwest are more progressive, the east can be compared to the deep south of the US. Food wise there are better places to enjoy, at least they have some good beer if you like that. From an ecological perspective, Germans tend to think very green, they recycle and in general care about their environment. Soccer is the national sport #1, with some basket ball and hockey. Baseball and Football are completely ignored. Even hand ball and biking is more common. All in all, its not that much different from the US, everything is just a little bit smaller.

i think in germany people are laughing their rear a**es off ...because we may never recover from our own greed. morale is at an all time low...children who's parents smoke aren't getting enough to eat...in short i think america is revealing the red dragon so to speak...attack on babylon.
