    Edinburgh is the best for sightseeing and tourists! There's Edinburgh castle, lots of shops, restaurants, Edinburgh dungeons, Edinburgh zoo, festivals, museums, beautiful views of the castle from princes street. If you want to go anywhere else for beautiful scenery I would suggest fort William up north or somewhere in the highlands. It has stunning scenery and scenes in Harry potter were filmed there! About travelling at the airport you can rent a car, go on a bus or get a train (even to fort William!) You can stay in a city for 5 days. I suggest Edinburgh more though as there is more to do than up north.
